Human justice, rights to privacy, ending poverty, ending rape and sexual slavery, ending child abuse and neglect, stopping mass shootings; These and other issues need to be addressed in our society by our schools.
Since parents are often working full time our children do not receive adequate guidance in matters pertaining to human decency, respect and rights. Bullying and abuse of the weak and defenseless in our society is a major problem.
This could be alleviated greatly by giving students time to process, debate and discuss controversial current events in an atmosphere that recognizes the rights and feelings of individuals.
Learning how to address these problems in a way that doesn't involve violence is essential if we are to conquer the violence and injustice in our society.
