The way that seats are allotted in the House of Representatives has fallen out of line with our founders' design. The Constitution was framed so that one house of Congress provided each state equal representation; the other provided the citizens of each state proportional representation. Since 1913, the number of Representatives has remained 435. Given current population, this means that a Wyoming rancher is 28% more represented in the House than a Texas rancher.
I ask you to call on Congress to address this issue with our republic. I propose that all future House apportionments use the population of the least populous state as a benchmark.
