Restore the Fairness Doctrine, and diversify Media ownership

Created by R.W. on May 29, 2016

There are but a handful of corporations that own our Radio, TV Networks, and Newspapers. Previously, ownership of these outlets was limited by law, and the numbers of media owners in this country, used to be in the thousands.
The backbone of a democracy is a strong free press, and due to this concentration of media ownership, the ability to freely report the issues of the day has been greatly diminished. In the absence of the Fairness Doctrine, a few individuals decide editorial policy, and media content focuses on the entertainment industry all too often.
We call for the restoration of the Fairness Doctrine, and for the breakup of concentrated media ownership, so the U.S.A. can once again have a free press that is the envy of the rest of the world.
