On January 14th, 2014, The United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia overruled the the Federal Communications Commission’s 2010 order that regulated wireline ISP's and enforced net neutrality practices.
This overruling allows the few available Internet Service Providers the ability to data discriminate for any reason. This discrimination could stifle innovation, startups, and small businesses, as the ISP's can favor established providers who can pay fees for faster/prioritized data transfer to customers. They can also charge fee's for accessing other content providers like Netflix, HBO, Youtube and others.
