Restore federal funding to studies targeting the roots, consequences, causes and factors associated with gun violence.

Created by B.M. on January 11, 2013

Restore federal funding to previously terminated studies sponsored by the National Institutes of Health and the CDC targeting the roots, consequences, causes and factors associated with gun violence.

The exploding number of deaths and crippling injuries associated with the abundance of advanced firearms in our society have pushed this issue to the forefront as an issue of national health, posing challenges which require our direct intervention into the causes. Congress previously cut funding and support of appropriate studies into the root causes of gun violence, preferring to leave us with the rationalizations of NRA/Wayne LaPierre that the problem is madmen and criminals and video games. Now is the time to shed light on the problem ... and to lay the groundwork for solutions.
