Make changes to the Fair Labor Standards Act to restore federal overtime standards to help the middle class. Only workers earning an annual income of under $23,660 qualify for mandatory overtime. In 2014 that leaves most of the middle class out.There are millions of Americans making well more than the minimum wage, yet still doing much worse than their similarly situated parents did a generation ago. Mr. President, you have the power to fix this without Congress and potentially jump-start the economy by amending the laws to cover salaries to today's comparable threshold of $69,000.
