Since the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in downtown Oklahoma City on April 19, 1995 and following 9/11, citizens have been subjected to more and more oppressive security measures, when citizens need to enter their federal facilities.
An iron curtain has been erected between the citizens and its government, and it is time for President Obama to tear down that iron curtain.
We have rebuilt and have moved on since the Civil War, since WW1, since WWII, since the Korean War, since the Vietnam War, since Murrah and since 9/11. Can anyone entering a federal facility cause damage anywhere close in magnitude to that which the events above unleashed upon property and lives? The answer is clearly no, and therefore, the oppressive security regimes in place are indefensible.
