Restore freedom to our nation's pilots by eliminating the SFRA around Washington DC and abandoning the use of VIP TFRs!

Created by J.P. on September 26, 2011

General Aviation Pilots living in and around the Washington DC area are saddled with onerous, time-consuming regulations that threaten their flying privileges, add cost and risk to their flights, and do absolutely nothing to actually protect the area from terrorist activity. Local airports and associated businesses are suffering economic loss as a result of the regulations, which unduly discourage aviation activities throughout the affected area. All GA pilots throughout the US are impacted by "VIP TFRs," which are Temporary Flight Restrictions imposed for 30 miles around the movements of "VIPs." These TFRs are poorly communicated, difficult to navigate, and add risk to GA pilots and their family members, while doing absolutely nothing to actually protect VIPs. Free the skies!
