Restore the full rank and completely exonerate Admiral Husband E. Kimmel, Commander-in-Chief of the United States Navy Pacific Fleet, at the time of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941.
Like millions of other Americans – including members of the military, past and present, members of Congress, and historians – we are of the opinion that Admiral Kimmel was tragically and erroneously blamed for “errors in judgment and dereliction of duty” by individuals seeking a scapegoat for the disaster.
Past Presidents have not acted on the issue even though in 1999 the United States Senate passed a resolution urging the President to posthumously restore Admiral Kimmel's full four-star rank.
We ask our current Commander-in-Chief to finally right this seventy-three year old wrong.
