The United States Court of Appeals struck down the Federal Communications Commission’s 2010 order that imposed network neutrality regulations on broadband services, saying that such restrictions are not needed in part because consumers have a choice in which ISP they use.
This is patently false. Unless the consumer lives in a major city there is no choice other than no internet at all, which is not a reasonable choice in this age of teleworking and constant connectivity. I live in Fairfax, VA, 20 miles from the capital of the country, and I have two choices. This is a sight more than I had at my previous home in Abingdon, VA where I had one "choice."
This decision was clearly made on false assumptions of choice in broadband providers and should be reevaluated by a knowledgeable party.
