The critical entry time to ANY mail processing plant is now 8:00AM. What this means to you. Unless your First Class letter or Flat is inside the mail processing plant by 8:00am, your mail piece will not be delivered the next day. Overnight delivery of First Class Mail has come to an end. Example: say you drive to the Post Office and place your mail in the big blue boxes marked US MAIL on Monday morning 10:00AM. Your mail is going across town, you expect it delivered Tuesday right? With the new standards your mail is now scheduled for delivery on Wednesday! First Class means next day!
