Restore the People's access to grand juries. Don't allow the judiciary to block judicial/government accountability.

Created by M.F. on January 24, 2014

Grand juries are, (or should be) the People's checks and balances against the reluctance of government to hold itself accountable to criminal investigations/indictments. Repeal the conflict of interest in rule 6 of the federal rules of criminal procedure, that allows a judge to interpret public interest in summoning grand juries. The public interest demands a balance of power between individual branches of government. Grand juries are non-judicial, and should determine for themselves whether they will or won't investigate or indict. There's no such thing as a "runaway grand jury" unless prosecutors are also "runaway prosecutors" for filing charges without prior judicial approval. Neither prosecutor nor Grand jury can actually convict any so-called "ham sandwich" they may try to indict.
