As a country that has had it's largest population growth early in its life from the promise of religious freedom, it is obscene to have our heritage ripped out by people trying to remove all references of God.
It is our history, it is our heritage and NO ONE should be allowed to rewrite our history.
Not only should we keep "under God" in the pledge of Allegiance, it should be taught in our schools. Regardless of religion it IS part of our history that originated from Pres. Lincoln's Gettysburg Address.
As far as "In God We Trust" on our currency. It was also Part of the reunification of our country after the civil war. This was a very significant part of our history and does reflect the mindset of our founding fathers and the great leaders of our past.
