Because America has a large, unfilled need for engineers and mathematicians, the government should provide math and science education centers free of charge. In these proposed centers people would be able to test their aptitude, improve skills, and be provided direction to achieve the next level of proficiency (algebra to field theory, or physics to atomic physics). Implementation can be left to colleges and universities, and paid for by tax credits to the institutions based on level of service provided. Solar efficiency could be achieved, nuclear fusion could be accomplished, and the stars could be reached. The next Einstein or Ramanujan is out there and America cannot afford to let that potential go unrealized.
