Without strong and necessary protections in place for voters, we risk auctioning our democracy off to the highest bidders among corporations and polluters - special interests that have already demonstrated they have no interest in a functioning democracy. The promise of our nation is to ensure that every American - no matter who they are or where they live - has an equal voice in our democracy. Nothing short of our children's future is at stake, and we must ensure that our democracy will work for the people first.
