Bringing about legislation that makes it more difficult to get firearms and ammunition and that encourages people to carry swords could change the impact of violent crime. If enacted this could give people a chance to be skilled combatants who are forced to fight in a way that they must put their own life and person on the line. No more knee-jerk reactions of pulling a trigger and possibly never facing the consequences. People are more likely to survive a random assault by a sword wielding maniac. Lastly, swordfights are a more graceful form of combat.
