Restrict Access to Abortion in the United States

22% of all pregnancies in the United States end in induced abortion. 87% of women who chose to have an abortion say that having a baby would interfere with work, school, or other responsibilities, that they cannot afford a child, or that they do not want to be a single parent. Only 12% of women included a problem with their health among reasons for having an abortion. 1% reported that they were survivors of rape. Restricting access to abortion to women who are experiencing health problems or are pregnant as a result of rape is a good idea because it would potentially decrease the abortion rate in the United States by almost 90%.
