It is our belief the that name and face recognition of mass shooting suspects which results from media exposure is a motivating factor in the decision making process of these suspects. While we should not limit or suppress the right of the media to make this information public we should discourage overexposure by removing the direct profit from articles and stories which identify the suspects of mass shootings. This can be done by disallowing advertisement revenue generated by ads placed directly on pages* containing articles identifying suspects and by disallowing revenue generated by commercials placed in adjacent time slots to television or video news stories which identify the suspects including promo clips of upcoming stories.
