As it stands today, employers are allowed to "require" that applicants be bilingual in Spanish and "any other language." This is being used as a loophole to ensure employment to Latino workers only, while not specifically stating that this is the reason.
I would like to petition that, unless a company specifically does businesses in South America, Spain or any other Spanish-speaking region or country, not within the confines of the United States of America, this should not be allowed as a requirement for employment.
Employment is equal-opportunity in the United States and it is unfair to job-seekers who speak a language that isn't Spanish. The language spoken by the employers should not be a requirement for the employees.
