Congress members currently have little personal context for health care and social security because they are not impacted by the limits their votes and current policies impose on other citizens. By sharing the same burden as non-Congress people (especially our Senior Citizens), Congress may focus more closely on everyone getting the best benefits possible. We need Representatives that are motivated less by stellar tangible and financial benefits of serving the people, and more by intangible benefits of serving the people.
