Restrict glorified media coverage about the perpetrators of mass violence in order to avoid similar acts in the future.

Created by K.G. on December 15, 2012

Media coverage about the perpetrators of mass violence has become excessive and sensationalistic. The media cannot help but report on them, because so many people are drawn in to try to understand one thing... why? In reality, no reason will or would ever be good enough to justify such heinous acts. In my opinion this detailed coverage about the individual, encourages similar acts in the future.

Even the simple repetition of a name over and over makes the individual notorious, and almost famous. Rather than the troubled individual seeking help or just ending their own life quietly, they now are encouraged to do as other have, and take their issues out on innocent civilians. They are no longer the nobody that never meant anything to anyone, but one who lives in infamy for their actions.
