RESTRICT THE LEVEL OF FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO ENSURE THE FREEDOMS PROVIDED BY THE CONSTITUTION

Created by J.G. on November 13, 2012

The Congress should place a cap on federal government spending at ten percent of GDP and return controversial issues to the states so that individual freedom is ensured. The Fourteenth Amendment of the Constitution forces states to apply equal protection under the law to all citizens within their jurisdiction. Capping spending at this rate would maintain funds to provide for the common good and allows states to collect additional revenue to provide for the needs of their citizens without negatively influencing economic development. All people deserve freedom of choice and equal protection, but expanding government does not protect these rights.

"We the people tell the government what to do, it doesn't tell us... man is not free, unless government is limited."
- Ronald Reagan
