Since 1947, the 22nd Amendment has restricted the term limits of the United States Presidency, while the U.S. Congress is allowed to remain seated for an unlimited amount of time essentially turning what should be a temporary stint for the public face of the people into a career position dominated by lobbying.
It is the belief that restricting the U.S. Congress to term limits similar to the POTUS, would allow for fresh ideas and a better representation of what the people are looking for even in there own parties.
Forcing term limits could create new bipartisanship, fresh ideas, and Congressmen who are more in touch with the people they represent versus a career Congressman who has been corrupted, out of touch with the people and lobbied past the point of doing what is right for the U.S.
