This petition is to ask that the Executive respond to projections that the Highway Trust Fund will run short of resources this summer by immediately restricting payments as follows: Any Congressional District where the amount spent on transportation projects currently exceeds the amount of Tax Dollars dedicated to the Highway Trust Fund will have that funding stopped immediately. Any Congressional District where the amount of Tax dollars collected for the fund at any time exceeds the amount spent on Highway Trust Fund projects will have that funding stopped. For an Congressional District where the amount of Taxes collected will exceed the value of all current projects then those excess funds may be distributed to other districts within the same State.
