We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Restrict pharmaceutical and medical industry from overpricing lifesaving drugs/machines/instruments

Created by N.Z. on August 26, 2016

We need to restrict all lifesaving drugs, machines and medical instruments used in surgeries and procedures to have a max profit cap of 100% of the cost.

The pharmaceutical & medical industry have full control and monopolies over lifesaving drugs and instruments necessary for diagnosing and curing and preventing deaths related to various medical conditions. Though the market for these areas is with the intent to make a profit. There needs to be restrictions to prevent manufactures and doctors from excessively overpricing their drugs/machines/tools required for people to live and survive.

One example of a company overpricing a lifesaving drug is the Epi-Pen, which has been reported to have increased price by 500% over the last decade necessary to survive severe allergic reactions.
