Our nation's national debt is currently $16.5 Trillion. The entire U.S. GDP for 2012 was $15 Trillion. This situation is simply not sustainable. Our federal deficit must be eliminated and debt reduced to a sustainable level.
Since our leaders in both the Executive and Legislative branches seem unmotivated to work with each other to resolve this issue, we are petitioning for all federal elected officials take a $1 annual salary until a plan has been implemented to, not only eliminate our national deficit, but to substantially reduce the federal debt, as well. This should not be an unrealistic one year plan, but a reality based 20-30 year plan for our nation that is sustainable and able to adapt to future, unforeseen, challenges.
This petition is not partisan in nature...but patriotic.
