High capacity, military type weapons should not be in the hands of ordinary citizens. There should be a broader definition of weapons that should be banned which are military in nature and not used for sport.
Both licensing and liability insurance should be mandated for anyone purchasing any firearm. Extensive background checks should be required for anyone purchasing firearms. Hunters and sportsmen should be proactive and come together to form a new organization which focuses on gun safety and skills.
There needs to be a way to track weapons in case they are stolen or get into the wrong hands.
