Restrict Unwarranted Profile Access by Prospective Employers

Created by K.H. on May 16, 2013

We the people find that prospective employers abuse and intentionally manipulate or circumvent terms of service and privacy regulations to mine data on their employment candidates.

Not only does this violate the individual's privacy but it is inherently discriminatory to exclude a person from employment as a result of personal decisions they make, or have made, especially those which do not weigh in on their ability to perform their potential duties.

Additionally there is no way to verify that this information is accurate; indeed there are many cases of false information being posted by individuals with ill intent toward one another.

We petition the White House and it's current administration to ban employers from screening candidates based on information found online.
