Restructure Labor Laws so employees cannot be fired for mealtime violations

Many states have huge variations in labor laws. for instance in the state of california employees have to clock out for lunches before their fifth hour of work which seems like a good idea except for the fact that employers are required to pay their employee a fee for making then work into that 5th hour, which in turn most companies have now put rules into effect banning an employee from going into their 5th hour and in turn terminating employees who do so many many good honest hard working employees lose their jobs because of this law. there should be a complete federal overhaul of this system and make it to where we protect our workers so they can enjoy their lunch breaks and not fear they will be fired if they go one minute into their lunches.
