Currently there are over 17,000 local, tribal, state law enforcement agencies in the United States. These agencies consist of police, constables, tribal police, sheriff office etc. The agencies vary in size from a minimum of one person to several thousand.
All agencies report to separate forms of government such as city councils, county commissions, tribal councils, Governor.
The agencies attend different types of training and meet different training requirements depending on the state or type of agency. They also enforce different types of laws.
Law Enforcement need to be restructured and merged into a few agencies so we do not have as many problems. This will result in professionalism, improved and equal background checks, improved training and accountability for actions.
