Given the health insurance industry's brinksmanship and lobbying power, and the overwhelming support that the public option received from the American people and healthcare providers, we ask that the White House support legislation that would revise the PPACA to include the public option as it was passed in the House in 2007. We believe that support has grown for a public option, that without it insurance companies will find ways to skirt their obligations set out in the PPACA, and that the President should continue to show his ongoing support of a public option as the best way to protect the American People from unfair business practices and excessive health care costs.
