Resurrect the train services between Jacksonville Florida and New Orleans, called the eastern half of the Sunset limited

Created by G.E. on February 08, 2014

The Sunset Limited was a passenger train that From April 1993 through August 2005 operated from New Orleans to Florida (originally, to Miami; later, only as far as Orlando, Florida, then to Jacksonville fl), during which time it was the only true transcontinental passenger train in American history. After August 2005, the service reverted to the original Los Angeles to New Orleans routing after the service between New Orleans and Orlando was suspended following the lingering effects of Hurricane Katrina.
During fiscal year 2011, the Sunset Limited carried nearly 100,000 passengers, an increase of 8.8% over FY2010. During FY 2011 it had an increase of 11.8% over 2010. Unlike after the northern storm Irene, the southern states did not get their passenger rail back even after waiting 9 years
