In response to a drive to put a female on the $20 bill for the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, the Treasury Dept. announced it would alter Alexander Hamilton's $10 bill instead.
Hamilton was one of the most important Founders, a writer of the Constitution and Federalist Papers, the first Treasury secretary, an advocate of the abolition of slavery and the dignity of African Americans, and an outstanding immigrant success story.
Jackson, while important, pales in comparison, and Jackson opposed the financial system that Hamilton constructed.
Hamilton deserves to stay, and Jackson - an advocate of slavery who disregarded the Supreme Court to force Native Americans from their lands - should be replaced.
