This petition is to retire the manufacturing of pennies. It costs over twice as much to create a penny as it is worth. Canada and many other countries in the world have already decided to remove the penny from their currency. If you need any other reasons Google removing the penny and you will find many other people who have devoted time to removing the penny as well.
