The time of the Penny has come and gone. No goods or services can be bought for only a penny and this coin has become little more than added weight to pockets, change purses and the void that exists under the cushions of the couch.
I propose the retirement of the penny, and to have all purchases rounded up to the nearest $0.05. The revenue from this rounding could be first applied towards the national debt, and then be used exclusively for infrastructure projects to revitalize our nation.
