The goal of this petition is to reinstall the right to bear arms for Level 1 Sex Offenders and/or Non-Violent Offenders. There are far too many minor, nonviolent, absurd "offenses" that place somebody on a list for life, and offer nothing but a decreased level of self-protection of themselves and their community. The entire registry needs a serious overhaul, as well as the laws that prevent them from truly protection themselves from violent attacks in public and in their own homes. The truth is there are many that don't deserve to be a sex offender list, nor do they deserve the right to defend themselves revoked. Non-violent sex offenders, for whatever reason, should not be stripped of their God given right to protect their own lives from harm; and protect their family’s from intruders.
