Return Alaska's Land Rights

Created by D.M. on February 03, 2015

The Alaska Senate Majority Caucus urges President Obama to reverse his decision to take Alaska’s lands in violation of federal law and against the best interest of our nation to secure energy independence.

On January 25, President Obama broke federal law (ANILCA) by declaring the 1002 Area of ANWR as wilderness, preventing Alaskans from accessing their lands and resources for the benefit of all Americans.

His decision comes at a time when too many Alaskan families have to choose between putting food on the table and paying the highest energy prices in the nation.

In order for America to realize energy independence, Alaskans must be allowed to develop their land and resources in an environmentally responsible way, as promised at statehood by the federal government.
