There are many military personnel in countries that can easily defend themselves. Examples been Germany >50,000, Japan > 35000 and Saudi Arabia > 50,000. Not to mention Italy >9,000 and South Korea >28,000. This petition is to reassign these personnel and stop hiring new people.
The need to shrink the US military in a time of relative peace and use those funds to aid the American people be it new highways or reduction of the debt could not be more obvious.
As the President and Commander in Chief there would only require a direction to the military to make this happen. We call on you to make that directive and use the resources provided by we the people for measures that better reflect the needs of all American people.
