Return to the ban on advertising pharmaceuticals. It is not healthy to hear all those side effects repeatedly.

Created by M.L. on January 29, 2014

There are medications we cannot get without a doctor's order. It makes no sense to be bombarded by medications for erectile dysfunction, COPD, or other serious conditions usually managed by not just one doctor, but by a team. These professionals know their tools. Is there a specific reason all the non-medical people need to hear litanies of side effects? Once, these medications were restricted to print ads in certain publications. This was appropriate. The advertising money should go back into research or on to the shareholders. Less advertising means more available funds for research, and direct education of medical professionals. Right now, through TV ads, visitors see us as "the sickest country in the world". Let's change that - for the better!
