We the People call on President Obama to DEMAND that this FAIR AND JUST proposal be placed on the ballot for the 2014 General Election:
Create INDEPENDENT REDISTRICTING COMMISSIONS for the normal redrawing of congressional district maps. This can be done state by state (without partisan bias) using what California has already done as a model: California Proposition 20, Congressional Redistricting 2010.
Gerrymandering is a work-around to the old classic - "Taxation without Representation". Politicians who are already in place are able to draw and re-draw their district maps utilizing the "Wasted Vote Effect" to make sure they don't get voted out.
This scheme blatantly undermines the PRINCIPLE and FAIRNESS of "One Man, One Vote" and should be disallowed!
PUT A STOP TO GERRYMANDERING!!!
