We, the people of the U.S.A., petition that all federal lands currently designated as National Parks be returned to the American Indian Tribes, and that said tribes be allowed to administer, regulate the usage and maintain the heretofore mentioned lands through access fees as determined necessary by jurisdictional tribal councils. As you know, Mr. President, for over 200 years the U.S. Government has systematically seized vast amounts of territory from the indigenous peoples that inhabited North America prior to colonization and the Declaration of Independence. The American Indian Tribes have been deprived of their resources and their traditional ways of life. Returning National Parks to the Indians would demonstrate goodwill and save U.S. tax money required to operate the parks.
