Return the federal loan interest rate to 3.4% or lower from its current 6.8% standing. Not doing so could slow workforce

Created by K.R. on July 23, 2013

As a now Freshman in college, I am beginning to get a real sense of what it's like out in the real world. The 6.8% interest rate on my loan that is helping me pay for my tuition is outrageous in my opinion. I firmly believe I am not the only one in this position. The interest rate on such loans used to be 3.4%, but then our government doubled it to try and provide some extra "revenue"(code word for taxes for those of you who didn't know that) to help pay off our massive debt as a nation. Here's the thing, the college students like myself that the gov't is increasing rates on is unfair. If you really want to help promote a more healthy economy, you need to inspire people to work harder for the education degree they need nowadays. An interest rate uppage is not the way to go.
