Return the legal drinking age to 18.

Created by T.A. on November 18, 2012

At the age of 18 you are considered an adult. You can live on your own, buy cigarettes, buy lottery tickets, open credit cards, serve your country, and get married without parental consent. If a person makes the decision to fight and die for their country, then they should be allowed to make the decision to drink. Many people say it's because the brain does not develop until 21. Well it should be up to the person to make the decision to drink, not the officials. Just like it's up to a pregnant woman to drink, not the officials, knowing it can cause birth defects. Other people say it's because of increased DUI's. Marijuana was just legalized in two states which will increase DUI's as well. Adults should be allowed to make their own decision to drink just as it is for a person to smoke.
