Right now, a soldier can volunteer for an overseas duty station to avoid going to court over financial support of his or her child(ren). This can delay the legal process for years, placing the entire financial burden of support on the single parent raising the soldier's child(ren) and the state. Meanwhile, the soldier collects meals, living allowances and puts his signing and combat pay bonuses in his pocket, WITHOUT PAYING TAXES.
A child needs financial support of the active duty parent during the first 18 years of life. Soldiers who refuse mortgage our nation's future by refusing to support their families, making them cowards and traitors.
The U.S. Armed Forces MUST EXPEDITE requests for a soldier to be returned to the state holding appropriate jurisdiction for child support hearings.
