Return NASA to its former glory (instead of the joke it is now) by increasing its budget to at least 1% of the GDP.

NASA is a vital part of our country's technological and scientific advancement. So many modern technologies you probably use every day came from NASA. It currently receives only about 0.48% (17.7 billion) of the federal budget compared to the 1960's where it reached almost 4.5%. Compare its current funding to other divisions of the government:
Defense - $851 billion, Education - $69.8 billion, Health and Human Services - $71.7 billion, Housing and Urban Development - $35.3 billion, Agriculture - $21.4 billion.
As you can see NASA is grossly underfunded. So please lets not stall in progress, lets not take baby steps anymore. Lets return to taking giant leaps and provide inspiration and awe for all mankind as we once did by increasing NASA's budget to at least 1% of the Federal Budget
