to return the national motto to "E Pluribus Unum". Make the motto fallow the Separation of Church and State.

Created by M.S. on January 20, 2013

This petition is to repeal the US Congressional act H. J. Resolution 396 which will switch the national motto from "In God we trust" to "E pluribus unum" meaning "Out of many, one"

Resolution 396 was passed in 1956 at the height of the Red Scare and the McCarthy Trails. It is a clear violation of the separation of Church and State.

Just as John Quincy Adams swore the Presidential oath on a book of US laws, so must we now remember that the laws we live by be the highest authority.
