LETTER TO
President Barack Obama
On April 16,1963, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. presented the problems of unjust laws that illuminated upon the foundation of freedom. From his " Letter from Birmingham Jail ", his missive to ministers eventually moved the hearts of many and in time, stopped the shadows of segregation that separated so many within this country. Just as being labelled black was a burden back then, today, many members of the United States have been, will be, or know someone who has been convicted of a crime and received a state or federal label as a felon. This label becomes a permanent fixture to forever carry into their future. No matter the amount of rehabilitation, education, or time paid for the crime, those will always be plagued by the past and condemned in the future!
