return States' representation in Congress by repealing the 17th Amendment allowing legislatures power to select Senators

Our original Constitution provided for the People's voice to be heard through the popular election of representatives to the House and the States' voice to be heard through the election of U.S. Senators by each state's legislature. This ensured that every concerned party (individuals and state governments) were properly represented in the federal government--something our nation fought for when the United States of America was created by revolting against the British crown. ince 1913, the 17th Amendment changed that and stripped the voice of state governments from the federal government, forcing state governments into a position of nullification. State governments are virtually powerless to protect their citizens from the federal government. Repealing the 17th Amendment is a necessity!
