return to the tax rates of the 1980’s, under Republican President Ronald Reagan.

Created by C.H. on September 24, 2011

During the bulk of the 1980’s the tax rate was 50% for top income, compared with 35% in 2010. This means the tax rate on the highest income has been reduced by 30% between 1986 and 2010. This is an amazing drop in income for the United States when you consider the incredible growth of our population. By not growing and appropriately adjusting our internal revenue system we have dangerously reduced our ability as a nation to respond to our own emergencies. Returning to top income tax rates of the past i.e., 1966 top rate was 70%; in 1986 the top rate was 50%, should be our first step to improving the United States. These improvements are investments in the future of the United States, its people, and its economy. This proposal will create jobs now for greater middle America.
