Based on the current number of petitioners from the state of texas, it is a reasonable conclusion that 8% of the population wish to secede. Based on this I find it reasonable to grant their wish in a different manner. Seperate them from the United States of America by selling the State of texas to the Mexican government for no less than the share of the national deficit that the state helped to facilitate.
